THE CHALLENGE
A Crowded Marketplace
During the pandemic boom of car camping, the desire for trailers, vans and outdoor vehicles flourished, providing a growing need for customized accessories to which a myriad of designers and fabricators rose to the challenge. Our task was to create a unique brand that differentiated on a blend of style, craft and emotional resonance with the buyers. The brand needed to be more than a product offering… it had to be a call to escape, experience and commune out in the wild.
THE SOLUTION
Quality + Connection
The choice of bold, rugged typography that also utilizes geometric letterforms was an intentional effort to imply the quality the owner/engineer holds as his standard. The removal of “E” from the name further balances the logo in its variations that are held together with a plus symbol. This alternative “and” element is composed of arrows indicative of travel (direction, distance and even abstract tire tread pattern).
This thoughtfully developed identity wouldn’t be complete without the photography and messaging that tackles the ideas of remote adventures with friends. The imagery tugs at the viewer’s wanderlust, igniting a primal connection to experience the natural wilderness to it’s fullest and share stories of life around fires, under starlit skies.
Rhett McCaughey | Owner of OVR+OUT
“In the time that I have been privileged to work with Fletcher, I can honestly say that I have never been more proud of the work we've done, nor have I been pushed creatively as much. Fletcher has the rare ability to come up with ideas that make everyone involved in the project do their best work.”
THE RESULT
Bigger, Longer Adventures
When you appeal to the desires of your audience in a way that motivates not only sales, but advocacy, you tend to make better stuff that empowers even more epic journeys and their subsequent tales.
In this case, the brand influenced its owner to embody its ethos. Not just creating specialty outdoor products, but joining and building the community his imagery represents.
